Axisweb no longer Arts Council England NPO

Arts Council England (ACE) announced on 1 July 2014 that it will not continue to fund Axisweb as a 'National Portfolio Organisation' (NPO)

“The news comes as a huge disappointment, but we are encouraged by the positive assessment our application received and look forward to working with ACE staff to secure the organisation’s future, says Sheila McGregor, director of Axisweb.

We recognise that this has been a particularly difficult decision-making round for ACE, given the scale of the cuts it has had to impose. Over the coming months both Axisweb board and staff will be rigorously pursuing all options to adapt our business model to a reduction in our revenue funding.

In the meantime, it will be business as usual for Axisweb. We have exciting plans and partnerships in the pipeline for promoting the work of the artists and art professionals in our directory. The amazing things and experiences they create remain at the heart of our operation.

With the support of our members and the commitment of our capable and energetic team, we will continue to play a vital role in the UK’s contemporary art scene.
