Artist Statement

The work begins with attemps to create a sense of space or focus, according to which materials and techniques are used, without being tied to the idea of an image. During the course of this process, city skylines, landscapes, natural forms and architectural details begin to emerge.

I have been working for the last few months on collages of one sort or another.The plaited pictures are made by using two previously used canvases. The lines and shapes arise from how the canvas is cut and are not predetermined. Mapa Mundi  was an attempt to try and paint in this more random way.
