Each stone is made with 53 grams of grogged earthenware and glazed with a discontinued commercial glaze. This unique edition is created specially for Object | Multiple using additional layers and processes.

The Witch Stones are an ongoing series of handmade glazed ceramic works. They allude to several objects from folklore including the witch cakes of Salem that offered protection from curses when suspended behind a door of a house. They also take inspiration from hex or adder stones and the fairy stones that are said to be a window to the fairy kingdom. Perhaps these ceramic stones may offer safety or protection from curses when placed around the rooms of your home. This specific batch also references an East Anglian myth of a black devil dog claimed to wander the surrounding countryside and terrify passing travellers.
